Deca 2012

Deca was a poster for the 2012 Tycho show at the Independent in San Francisco. I adapted it from a flyer I did the year before for the show with Shigeto at the Echoplex (fig.1). I remember being really focused on refining and simplifying my overlay techniques during this time. Whereas before I had been trying to make the work look as though it was printed on paper now I was trying to get more of a film transfer look, using grain and curve overlays instead of scanned textures. Generally I was just trying to tighten everything up and push the work further into the realm of photographic / graphic design and away from the painterly illustration styles I had been pursuing before.
